VESTAL, N.Y. -- Robert Mansell scored 18 points and Binghamton held off Vermont 57-53 to win its first game of the season Tuesday night, snapping a 27-game losing streak and shedding the dubious distinction of being the only winless team in Division I.

The win is the eighth straight for the Catamounts, as they now control their own destiny to win the league championship after knocking off the first-place Seawolves and improve to 17-10 overall and 11-2 in conference play.
