UVM at UNH 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Tonight’s game against UNH, will be broadcast live on NESN. UNH’s offensive threats, Alvin Abreu, Jr. averaging 12.8 points/game & Tyrone Conley, Jr. averaging 11.0 points/game are the only two players for UHN scoring double digits/game with Dane Diliegro, Jr. averaging 8.3 points/game. Dane is all so averaging 8.3 rebounds/game with teammate Radar Ongeutou Sr. averaging 6.7 rebounds/game.
I’m looking for the Cat’s to bring the consistency we’ve see them have in previous games this year and confidence in both perimeter and foul shooting. Watching the interviews of the Cat’s on TV, they realize what is at stake with the position they find themselves in now. I think the Cats will do what they need to do to take care of business and win tonight’s game at UNH.

I think this team has a lot of pride and alot of heart. I know they want to win and will bring the hurt on UNH tonight.
Coaches will figure out what to do so that we can win at least 3 tournament games in March.

Well people how do you feel about your team now after seeing them get their backsides kicked from one end of Lundholm Gym to the other all night long. The lack of a floor leader at the point and a physical presence down low to help take some of the pressure of MB is becoming glaring. Well look at the bright side of it maybe they'll beat UMBC in the play-in game come tournament time.

Marqus Blakely was two turnovers shy of his first triple double. Bochbo, great point about the lack of a floor leader. I really think that has been an issue for several years now. I wish Lonergan could suit up because he has the fire and passion but sadly his four years of eligibility are up. I didn't see the Binghamton game but the energy on the court tonight was completely pathetic. After watching the game tonight I can see why they lost to Bing. I saw no resolve in this team. After their lead was lost they just appeared to be going through the motions. Especially on the offensive end. How many times did Mojo lose the ball while driving the lane? The coaching staff has their work cut out for them.

I am beginning to worry about this team.
It appears like while the Cats were on the road earlier in the season, the rest of the America East teams were watching game-tape on UVM so they can shutdown MB23 and eliminate guard play.
If this is the best the Cats can play, they will not even win the play-in game.
Lastly, I hate to bring this up but I've read some peoples comments about morale on the team and I am starting to wonder if there is some truth to that?

UNH really shot the lights out from three and got a lot of offensive rebounds that lead to second chance points. The rebounding was just awful. Also we need more dribble penetration out of our guards and then look to pass the ball out for a three. I know we are not a great shooting team but mojo can make them as can Accaoui and Garvey can hit them if he has some time.
I agree we lack leadership at the point guard position and that showed tonight. It is something that needs to be addressed ASAP. From what I have read I the guard recruit (Sandro) for next year is not a true point guard. Accaoui is not a true point guard and lacks the size of a shooting guard. That leaves us with Simeon a sophomore with limited time this year as the only true point guard. I don't like the way our point guard situation is setting up for next year. In the America East guard play is what wins. It is very hard to recruit good big men. When recruiting big men coaches are looking for a diamond in the rough. With that said, a good point guard that can provide leadership and control his team is crucial to a teams success in this league. Instead of recruiting combo guards like Accaoui and Sandro I think the coaching staff should try very hard to recruit a true point guard every year if possible.

When we play our best ball come tournament time, these bumps in the road will be long forgotten. Bing, SB and UNH can't shoot like that everytime we play. They have been shooting a season ave 28%, 34%, and 30% from the arc. Against us they shot 44%, 50% and 61%. Thats not sustainable. Teams are blowing their load.
Don't know about you but I'm still keeping my calendar clear for a trip to the dance.

If three consectutive teams light us up from beyond the arc what does this say about our perimeter D? I know the announcers made the comment that we have the best three point defense in conference but after the past three games I find that hard to believe.
