Derrick Millinghaus -2011 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 2
Young guard...some tough competition early.

At The Hoop Group Elite Team Camp this summer, a class of 2011 point guard, Derrick Millinghaus of Schenectady (NY) showed everyone in the gym that he was for real, as he went for 26 points and about a dozen assists in a 14-point day one upset win over St. Patrick's (NJ). At that point the 5'10 floor leader was getting minimal college interest, but since then his list has expanded. Fordham (offer), Fairfield, Iona, Vermont, LSU, Syracuse, Penn State, Northeastern, and UMES are the programs that he lists now, with SU and PSU as his favorites. Although Derrick has yet to take any visits, he will be checking out Fordham on October 3rd and then Fairfield on October 10th. Millinghaus will be "going [to a] prep [school] next year," as he will be ineligible to play at Schenectady as a senior. "I don't know what prep school I'm going to yet, [but I'm going] because I won't be eligible to play next year because my birthday comes before September.

I just returned from watching Troy high School play Schenectady. Millinghaus did not have a good game and sat out quite a bit in the second half. He does not have much help on this team and I'm sure he does better in AAU with better teammates. I am a UVM gradute who lives in Troy, New York. I will be at the women's game at Albany Saturday. Troy starts a junior, 3 sophomores and a freshman. Two, a sophomore and a freshman, are 6'7" and should develop into college players.

hey I have an idea why Derrick Millinghaus didn't have a good game. I have been watching him and I interact with the crowd, you know, see who knows him and if he is a good kid and such.Apparently his coach doesn't want him to score anymore which I don't understand because if you ever watched this team play, the only ones who can score consistantly is Derick and his 2 younger brothers. The coach doesn't like uptempo ball so I guess slowing the ball down with only 2 legit ball handlers on the team is a nightmare. The kids are always standing around and can't get open and the coach wants ALOT of ball rotation.Recipe for disaster.I saw another college coach when I was there. Also you have to go indiscreet cause I heard also the coach sits him when college coaches come around. This is his M O.Long story the person was talking so much I couldn't take proper notes.lol.Also he has a large family, saw them too.4 younger siblings and mom and dad.wow, that makes 9 people. I'm trying to find out what AAU team he is on because I would be interested in seeing him in action with some size and good players. He is very quick,I have a video I found. Someone told me he was the number 1 Allstar for the capital district.I don't know how to put actual video on here, maybe someone else can do it.
